LMLA AWARD WINNERS
2013 LONDON SPORTS COUNCIL SPIRIT OF SPORT
On November 7, Ron Elijah was recognized by the London Sports Council as
the Spirit of Sport Volunteer of the Year. This is a great honour for
Ron, as well as for LMLA, marking the first ever award for lacrosse from
the London Sports Council / London Sports Hall of Fame. Ron spends
countless hours coaching London field and box teams, as well as
fulfilling the role of Competitive Director for LMLA. In addition to his
duties with the Blue Devils, Ron also gives his time to coach Team
Iroquois, Rochester Jr. Knighthawks, Arrow Express winter league and his
own Oneida Braves. Congratulations to Ron on this well deserved honour
and thank you for your ongoing dedication to the sport of lacrosse in
and around London!
2013 ZONE 7 COACH OF THE YEAR
Russ Allan and Guntis Glinavs were selected as Coaches of the Year for
Zone 7! Their Intermediate Boys Blue Devils team had a very successful
season, topped off with a Zone Championship and a 3rd place ‘A’ finish
at Provincials. Congratulations Russ and Guntis!
2013 ZONE 7 LACROSSE PERSON/VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR
Ron Elijah was once again recognized as a dedicated volunteer, this time
by Zone 7! He shared the Lacrosse Person / Volunteer of the Year award
